Ambassador/Volunteer Application/Waiver

Pretties For Pitties, Inc is a 501(c)3 non-profit based out of Detroit but serving all of Southeastern, Michigan, with future expansion planned into Lansing, Battle Creek and Grand Rapids areas. Pretties for Pitties is a group of volunteers serving the community as “pit bull” ambassadors looking to educate and advocate for bully breeds in an effort to help end BSL (Breed Specific Legislation). We also offer resources to the community including a pet food bank for those in need.

Our primary goal for the near future is to become a traveling clinic, offering the following services at no cost to bully breeds, and low cost for all other breeds: Microchip, Vaccine and Heartworm Prevention. We also extend our resources to local shelters and rescues.

We would like to thank you for choosing to volunteer with Pretties for Pitties, Inc. The application process is outlined below, as well as what you will be responsible for, should you be accepted as an Ambassador for the 2019 calendar year. After reading the entire application, if you feel becoming a Pretties for Pitties Ambassador is the right fit for you,  please complete the application, in its entirety, and submit it below.  Thank you – we look forward to having you on our team.

A  Pretties for Pitties Ambassador is someone who donates their time to Pretties for Pitties, female or male.

P4P Ambassador is an advocate for the “Pit Bull” and is educated on the many breeds that fall under the term “Pitbull”.  A P4P Ambassador fights against “BSL”. Don’t worry if you feel you don’t know enough about any of these topics – we all started somewhere and we are all here to teach, and educate each other. We are about community and family.

We ask that you give at least one hour per month to help with things like participating at events or fundraisers, sharing/cross posting our online posts, coming to any meeting or training we offer, help with donations when possible, volunteering at events we are involved in with partners.

You may also be asked to model our products/merchandise for promotional use on our website, as well as social media outlets (Facebook, Instagram, etc.). Since we are Pretties for Pitties, many times bully breed dogs are included in our photo shoots, as well as almost all events we attend;  you must be comfortable being around and posing with dogs of all sizes and breeds.

We ask that every Ambassador attends our Titties 4 Pitties Benefit Gala. You will be given at least a month notice prior to event. This event celebrates all the time and hard work we all put in as members of the P4P family. (This is a mandatory event)

We ask that every Ambassador at Pretties for Pitties, Inc., volunteer a minimum of once per month throughout the year; this could be at public events or behind the scenes (office duties, online posting, mailings, any type of donations, social media, merch, online merch, website, blog writing, grant writing, fundraising, etc.) We do not expect you at every event, we understand everyone has a life, family, and work. Please understand, we are “PRETTIES FOR PITTES” and You are an important part of what we do and we can’t do events without your help! Events are scheduled through Facebook and Signup Genius, the event time, date, location and a minimum of how many Ambassadors will be needed at the event will be included. Event information will also be posted on our Facebook Ambassador group page that you will be added to.

We ask that at events you dress in “Pinup or Rockabilly”, Pin up MUAH (hair/make up), or in a Pretties for Pitties shirt is also acceptable. We always post what type of attire is needed for each event.

We ask that you cross post any events, merchandise, to help promote the cause. Always use hashtag #pretties4pitties, #p4p, or #prettiesforpitties, #bethevoiceforthevoiceless

We ask that you make a $5 monthly donation that will go toward purchasing pet food at the end of every month (payable through Paypal) if you haven’t volunteered in any way during that month.(If a personal matter arises where you need to step back for a month or 2, please contact the president, vice president, or ambassador director for a leave of absence).

Pretties for Pitties offers a reward program for the time you contribute as a volunteer. For every event you attend and every hour you put in you will earn 1 p4p point toward p4p merchandise. When you do any volunteer work from home you will earn 1 p4p point for every 3 hours of work. (**If you are working off community service hours the reward program would not apply**)

7. We understand that everyone has families, things come up; no one can make it to every event. At times we can have events scheduled every weekend, and we want to avoid the same five Ambassadors always volunteering, so we ask that each Ambassador volunteers at least once a month at an event or behind the scene with-in the year.(not including the Titties 4 Pitties Benefit Gala). We will notify you in advance of upcoming events on our Facebook group. Do you feel you can fulfill this request? (see above for complete description)

8. If you are accepted as a Pretties for Pitties Inc Ambassador, we ask that you make a $5 monthly donation, due at the end of every month only if you haven’t volunteered in any way within that month, payable through Pay Pal. This money will be used to purchase food for our food bank. Do you feel you are able to commit to this?

Waiver

I, the above listed Volunteer, desire to work as a volunteer for PRETTIES FOR PITTIES and engage in the activities related to being a volunteer for a work project. I agree to observe and obey all posted rules and warnings, and further agree to follow any oral instructions or directions given by PRETTIES FOR PITTIES, Directors, employees, or representatives.

I hereby voluntarily, execute this Volunteer Waiver under the following terms: I, the Volunteer, release and hold harmless PRETTIES FOR PITTIES and its successors and assigns from any and all liability, claims, and demands of whatever kind or nature, either in law or in equity, which arise or may hereafter arise from my volunteer work with PRETTIES FOR PITTIES.

I understand that this Waiver discharges from any liability or claim that I, the Volunteer, may have against PRETTIES FOR PITTIES with respect to bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage that may result from my participation on the PRETTIES FOR PITTIES work site. I also fully understand that PRETTIES FOR PITTIES does not assume any responsibility for or obligation to provide financial assistance or other assistance, including but not limited to medical, health or disability insurance, in the event of injury, illness, death or property damage.

I, the Volunteer, understand that I expressly waive any such claim for compensation or liability on the part of PRETTIES FOR PITTIES beyond what may be offered freely by the representative of PRETTIES FOR PITTIES in the event of such injury or medical expense.

I hereby release PRETTIES FOR PITTIES from any claim whatsoever which arises or may arise in the future on account of any first aid treatment or other medical services that are conducted in connection with an emergency during my time with PRETTIES FOR PITTIES.

I understand that during my involvement with PRETTIES FOR PITTIES it may include various activities (including animal related activities) that may be hazardous to me and I hereby expressly and specifically assume the risk of injury or harm in these activities and release PRETTIES FOR PITTIES from all liability for injury, illness, death, or property damage resulting from the activities of my time with PRETTIES FOR PITTIES. I further agree to pay for all damages to the facilities or property belonging to PRETTIES FOR PITTIES caused by my or my family’s negligent, reckless, or willful actions.

I grant unto PRETTIES FOR PITTIES all right, title, and interest in any and all photographic images and video or audio recordings that are made by PRETTIES FOR PITTIES during my work with PRETTIES FOR PITTIES, including, but not limited to, any royalties, proceeds, or other benefits that are derived from such photographs or recordings.

I expressly agree that this Waiver is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of Michigan in the United States of America, and that this Waiver shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan. I agree that in the event that any clause or provision of this Waiver shall be held to be invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of such clause or provision shall not otherwise affect the remaining provisions of this Release which shall continue to enforceable. Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this contract, or the breach thereof, shall be settled by arbitration administration by the American Arbitration Association.

I have read this document and understand it. I further understand that by initialing this release, I voluntarily surrender certain legal rights.
